Varieties of Kiwi

HAYWARD

Hayward is moderately hairy and more rounded than other kiwi varieties. Higher levels of sweetness make this variety the most popular amongst consumers and planters. The skin is thin, and the flesh is attractive green with a white centre.

GOLDEN

Golden kiwi is a modern cultivar of kiwifruit. It’s oval with a slight protruding style end and rounded to flat shape of shoulder on the stalk end. The gold-fleshed fruit also has a small, pointed crown on the exterior.

RED

Red kiwi are small berries, slightly larger in size and similar in shape to a grape, with a thin fuzz-free, subtly, ridged skin, similar in outward texture to a fig. The exterior of the fruit is more vibrant than a common kiwi fruit, the colour is deep, dusty, maroon with hints of purple and brown.
